Orlando Business Journal: Jimmy Buffet-Themed Senior Community is in Development in Daytona Beach

The community will be made up of 6,900 homes.

Seniors thinking about moving to Florida now have the opportunity to live in Margaritaville. That’s because developer Minto Communities LLC and Margaritaville Holdings, Inc. are teaming up to create a Jimmy Buffett-inspired active adult community in Daytona Beach.

The community, which will be made up of 6,900 homes, is estimated to be a $1 billion project. In addition to residential properties, it will include a town center, fitness center, arts and learning programs, dining structures with Margaritaville food and beverages, a pool, beach entry, a band shell for live entertainment and a private beachfront club.

Margaritaville CEO John Cohlan said in a statement, “We are excited to partner with Minto and believe this relationship will redefine lifestyle destination living in Daytona Beach.”

The first homes in the community are expected to be ready to move into by the fall of 2018. Prices range from the low $200,000s to the mid $300,000s.
